What is the point of social criticism if we are doomed anyways?
Of course, it begs the simple question...why bother with social criticism, when such criticism will not result in any realistic solutions? Yes, I am well-aware that no amount of social criticism will make an iota of difference in preventing human extinction from happening. But, it is still important to criticize our global economic paradigm (aka capitalism), because it does indeed suck. To make myself clear, our capitalist economic system is irredemably corrupt and fundamentally unsustainable. There is no way to rationally justify this economic paradigm. However, I do not propose "socialism" as the "solution" to capitalism, because that will not work. Besides, it is not like socialism ever existed in any form in the past nor present.
