What is the point of social criticism if we are doomed anyways?

Of course, it begs the simple question...why bother with social criticism, when such criticism will not result in any realistic solutions? Yes, I am well-aware that no amount of social criticism will make an iota of difference in preventing human extinction from happening. But, it is still important to criticize our global economic paradigm (aka capitalism), because it does indeed suck.

To make myself clear, our capitalist economic system is irredemably corrupt and fundamentally unsustainable. There is no way to rationally justify this economic paradigm.

However, I do not propose "socialism" as the "solution" to capitalism, because that will not work. Besides, it is not like socialism ever existed in any form in the past nor present. Not even in so-called "socialist" countries (like the Soviet Union or modern China).

Socialism would be defined as "the democratic control over the political economy. And an economy that produces goods and services for human needs rather than the accumulation of profit." If you use that genuine definition of socialism, then it becomes obvious that such a political economy has never been successfully implemented in the entire history of human civilization. Not in even so-called "socialist" countries.

Instead, what we have is the status quo of capitalism "which is top-down control of the political economy by a small group of rich, elite people. And production of goods and services for profit accumulation rather than human needs". Such a capitalist system is the status quo in our civilization. Even in so-called "socialist" countries, which are actually just state capitalist countries.

Of course, realistically-speaking, telling people the truth will make no fucking difference. Especially when you realize that the vast majority of people are so dumbed-down, ignorant, and brainwashed that they believe in a bunch of bs lies. To their grave. And they are not even aware that they are brainwashed. That is how brainwashed they are. (Almost) everyone is so brainwashed that no amounts of facts will change their stupid ways of thinking. That includes the so-called elites, who actually believe in the same lies that everyone else believes in.

It doesn't matter that the status quo of capitalism sucks. Because near term human extinction will eventually happen, which will finally rid this planet of those pesky, human vermin. For good.

I seriously doubt human extinction can be prevented at this point. Especially since virtually nobody even understands the root causes of humanity's impending extinction (which is the existence of civilization)...let alone has any realistic way to prevent our extinction from happening. Instead, business-as-usual will be perpeutated, until industrial civilization catastrophically and abruptly collapses. And human extinction finally arrives.

If there really was a way to prevent human extinction, we would be dramatically reducing human industrial activities. And we would be basing our economy off of truly satisifying human needs rather than basing it off of this unsustainable infinite-growth paradigm of capitalism.

Realistically, the only way to prevent complete human extinction would be a complete paradigm shift from capitalism. Which will, most likely, never happen. Instead, we will continue perpetuating capitalism, until collapse of industrial civilization finally arrives. And kills off literally every, single human on this planet. Thus, resulting in human extinction.
